Note: This position is funded through a Recovery Act grant from the Department of Justice. The anticipated duration of this assignment is 24 months and dependent upon receipt of grant funds.

Scope of Services: The program coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFE) program with the advice of the SAFE Advisory Committee and supervision by the Director of the Office of Victim Services.
Job Description: Includes developing and implementing an orientation program, an annual training program, support and oversight, and an on-call schedule for contracted SAFE personnel; assist in the Memorandum of Agreement and RFP processes for program development; develop and implement quality assurance measures; and the development of materials, forms, and reports.
Requirements: All bidders must have considerable knowledge of sexual assault issues, national research on SAFE best practices, training curricula, and the connection between acute care hospitals and the delivery of effective and efficient services to sexual assault victims. Qualified bidders shall be a registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse with five years experience providing direct patient care, hold a current State of Connecticut license to practice and are in good professional standing. It is preferred that the respondent be a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) A; have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution of higher education; have emergency room experience; and some administrative/management experience.
